JOHANN HEINRICH AND MARIA PHILIPPINE GRAESER

(Johann) Heinrich Graeser (so spelled rather than the expected “Gräser”) was the third son of Johann Nikolaus and Katherina Dorothea (née Unverzagt) Graeser; he was born in Saarbrücken on 30 September 1774 and died in Eschweilerpumpe on 14 February 1857. From late 1800 he was the manager of the Eschweiler coal mine, retiring in 1847. He married Maria Philippine Boltz on 10 November 1802; they were our great-great-grandparents.

Their children were:

(Walburga Karoline) Heloise (1803-1867) married (1, 1825) Johann Joseph Reuleaux (1790-1833), (2) Ewald Friedrich Scholl (1816-1874), the chief engineer of the Lauchhammer Ironworks. Heloise and Johann Joseph were our great-grandparents. She was the author of several books for younger readers, under the pen-names of “Elise Halm” or “Die Grossmutter”.

Heinrich (1805-1877);

Amalie (ca1804-1874); married Heinrich Hülsmann;

Fritz (1808-1879);

Karl (1810-1862);

Julie (1810-ca1882), unmarried.
