Friedrich Maximilien
von Braunschweig was born in 1780 and died in 1837; he married Johanna
von Wedell (1792-1880), probably around 1810. There is little information
about either them or their children in the records.; I am not aware of any
evidence to support the suggestion that he may have been related in some way
to Frederick the Great.
Our knowledge of the children of Friedrich and Johanna
is incomplete:
Emma was bom in
1831 and died in 1910; she married "Vater" Hoffmann in around
1852; they were our great-grandparents.
The "Birthday
Book" records an Albert von Braunschweig, who was bom in 1801
and died in 1889; but he was probably a brother of Friedrich Maximilien
Two other names in the "Birthday Book" are probably of the children
of Friedrich and Johanna:
Mathilde (1820-1890) who married von Leipziger;
Emilie (1828-1888) who married Walter.
There are also Auguste who married von Rudolph (possibly Leo)
and Marie who married Senstus; their relationships to Friedrich
Maximilien are not recorded.
